I'm so happy I bought this. In the past my dogs have been attacked by loose dogs. In the 3 years I've owned this prod my dogs have not been hurt. So far only one loose dog continued aggressively charging while I was walking my dog and holding this out towards charging dogs. The dog that continued to charge into the prod immediately turned and headed home after hitting the prod. The light is great for walking at night and doesn't wear down the battery like my old stun gun that had a light. I walk with this everyday for 3 years and have only charged it a handful of times. Best purchase ever! I highly recommend it. The only downside is I have arthritis and it's a bit heavy for my weak wrist, but wearing a wrist band helps.

This cattle prod works well and the battery lasts for weeks, then I recharge when needed. I purchased this just encase I needed a little more authority dealing with Bovines. I found I really only need the CP when two bulls are going head-to-head and a third bull joins in from the side (I really don't like two against one). You don't want to get in-between 6,000 lbs. of angry Angus animals. The West Thorne will move the third bull quickly away by touching his rear thigh. I found if you press the shock button, then release it before contact with the animal, the shock is less to the animal due to voltage being what is in the capacitor only (mini shock).

When you have 7 Rottweilers or any powerful breed of dogs, on rare occasions a fight can break out if their daily social playing gets too out of hand and the dog becomes over stimulated. With this breed, that can end up in losing one or more dogs and it is never advised to break up a dog fight yourself without emergency tools. One very quick touch to the rear leg/butt of each dog involved in an accidental fight and it is instantly broken up and next thing you know they are inside cuddling with each other. This tool is priceless, if it were $600 I would still absolutely think it's a priceless tool that avoids injury to both dogs and humans and literally can save one or multiple dogs lives if you live with a pack of dogs.

I bought this in 2021 for my small herd of goats. To keep them from trampling me during feeding time. It works great and I’ve only had to use it once or twice. They see it and stay clear till I’m done feeding. I highly recommend it still going strong, and I’ve only had to charge it 3 times in the past 4 nearly 5 year, that’s including my husband playing with it and sticking it to metal to make it spark.
